I’m so thrilled to be part of an exciting spring home tour with 14 other amazing bloggers. It has been unseasonably cold down here in the south, and I had been slowly adding bits and pieces of spring decor to my home, but this home tour served as my excuse to go full blown with pastels, fresh flowers and even a bird’s nest. Come on in and take a look…
Last weekend I scored big time with finding this china cabinet on Craigslist. And the price was ridiculous, one of those where you almost feel bad because the people don’t know that what they are selling is worth so much more than they are asking, but you quietly jump up and down in your head because it is such a screaming deal.
Let’s all just politely pretend that we don’t see the reflection of the lunatic in her super fluffy slippers. I told you it’s been cold! Moving on…
While I do not intend to actually use the china cabinet to house china (top secret info: it’s for my craft room!) I knew that before anything else moved into it that it would be the perfect place to stage a lovely setup of spring decor. I grabbed a set of white dishes, all of the sweet spring pastels I had lying around and got to work. About 15 minutes later I was looking at this:
Ahh, what a difference some fun finds (and a black Sharpie) made! Let’s take a closer look at what’s inside:
White dishes with fun pops of color
One of the two bunnies, this one on some fun fake grass from Hobby Lobby
These sweet little birdies who are perched right next to their caged friend
Caged birdie
A large Easter egg with a blue L in the background
You can never go wrong with fresh flowers in a simple white pitcher
Bunny number two on a cake stand
I love the mix of the happy colors with the clean look of the white dishes. I am totally in love with it, and it is almost making me rethink my plans about the china cabinets usage. Almost.
Moving into the living room I’ve added some spring pieces to the mantel as well as a few tabletops. You may also remember my bunny pillows which still adorn my couches.
Sweet tray on my coffee table
I am in love with the little bunny candy dish that I found at Hobby Lobby.
How about this adorable little bird’s nest? Check back on Monday for the tutorial and see how I made it for $2.
This little guy is sitting on the mantel next to some cherry blossom stems from my mom’s yard. Thanks Mom!
House plants are always a great way to bring a bit of spring indoors, and I’ve got a couple that my black thumb has managed to not kill yet (I won’t hold my breath that they’ll survive the summer).
Who doesn’t love orchids?!
This plant was gifted at my grandmother’s recent funeral, and I am trying with all my might to keep it alive. Can anyone tell me what it is? I know, ridiculous question!
And last but not least, on your way out, take a glance back at my front door and you’ll see my bright and happy spring wreath.
Thanks for stopping by, and please take a minute to go check out all of the other wonderful homes on the tour. Trust me, it’s worth the time!

I can’t decide, Melissa. I had originally planned on painting the china cabinet, but then I found this one and am so in love with it. I am wanting to paint a desk though, so I may leave the black to ground a super fun mint or coral desk.
Absolutely adorable!! I love spring, and am so ready for it to stick around. Looks amazing!
Thanks so much Melissa! I keep thinking that we have turned that corner and are done with winter only to deal with more freezing rain. Hopefully spring will come and stay soon! 🙂
Beautiful!! I love everything you did. I love the way the china hutch looks. Can’t wait to start decorating myself.
Thanks so much Debbie!
Love it all!! And simple ADORE your spring “wreath”! What a creative and cute idea. 🙂

Thank you Laura!
I love your cabinet! It’s an awesome find! Loved the reflection. Truth be told, we probably ALL go around in our warm fuzzy slippers. My hands and feet are ice cold during the winter! LOVE all your sweet bunnies – such fresh, beautiful spring decor! I am delighted to join you in this home tour!
Blessings,
Kathy

Wow, I just love your black painted hutch! And all your spring accessories and vignettes are so pretty. Fun being in the home tour with you!
Thank you Jane!
Finally catching up on all the posts. Omg! That bunny pillow is beyond cute and the fabric hoop wreath is genius! Totally pinning it. Thanks for being a part of the tour Kristen.

Thanks so much, Vidya! And super big thanks for hosting such a fun tour!
I love your cabinet and your pretty spring things!!
Your plant is a Peace Lily (Spathiphyllum).
It doesn’t need a lot of light, and only water when the soil feels dry. When the little yellow thingys show up in the white flowers, be sure to cut them out. The flower will last longer, and you won’t have yellow pollen all over EVERYTHING!!!
Blessings to you,
J
Oh thank you so much, Jaybird! I definitely hope that my black thumb doesn’t kill this one. Now I’ve got a better chance. Thanks again!
