3-D Paper Pumpkins

Hey guys, is it fall yet?  I mean, I don’t want to whine, but it is October and still in the 80s here.  What is up with that?!  Regardless of the ridiculous weather, I am in a fall frame of mind and I am so beyond ready to start decorating!  Who is with me? With that in mind, I decided to make these adorable 3-D paper pumpkins.  They’re as easy as they are cute and each one costs about a dollar.  Can’t beat that!

Supplies Needed:

pumpkin template or pattern (should be as symmetrical as possible)

6-8 pieces of coordinating scrapbook papers (can be any size as long as your pumpkin pattern fits on it)

glue

ribbon or paper bag, optional

I am kind of ashamed of how simple this project is.  It’s one of those that is so cute that you feel like it should have taken more time or effort than it did.  To be honest, the hardest part for me was coming up with a template.  I cannot draw to save my own neck, so I had to print a pumpkin coloring page off the internet to cut out and use as my template.  However, most people frown upon the idea of a symmetrical pumpkin, so there are all sorts of cute lumps and bumps.  That’s great for my four year old to color, but I needed it to match up with other pumpkins.  I finally ended up printing one, cutting around it to make the sides match as well as possible and calling it good enough.

Trace the hard fought for pumpkin pattern onto each of the 6-8 scrapbook papers and cut out.  Fold each paper in half.  Now simply apply glue to one side of the folded paper and place another folded paper on top.

Super simple, super cute and super cheap.  It’s a great combo and I can’t wait to make a whole little pumpkin patch for my home with all different sizes and shapes of pumpkins.  Heck, when it’s this easy, you might as well!
