When we bought our builder boring / potential dream home two years ago it was completed and sitting empty, just waiting for the right family to move in and love it. It was too late for us to make any design changes, so I sucked up some of the small things that I personally would not have chosen and figured that we would eventually get around to changing them. The thing that bothered me the most was the flooring in the kitchen. It is a brown linoleum and it is definitely not my favorite. And yet here we are, two years later with the same flooring. Why have I not done anything about it? As crazy as it sounds the main reason for our procrastination is that I just couldn't decide what flooring I thought would look best. You see, we have a very busy granite countertop that immediately draws your eye to it. And we also have very dark cabinets which are great to tone down the granite, but hard to coordinate other colors with. I am a very visual person and I need to see what a project will look like before undertaking. Certainly a project of this magnitude. That's what so amazing about Tarkett Flooring and their incredible iSelect palettes and RoomVue. Seriously guys, I'm blown away by it!
Tarkett Flooring uses a product called FiberFloor and it is designed with woven fiberglass, foam and resilient layers that can hold up to the real life craziness of any household. Things that include water, moisture, scuffs, scratches and indentations. It does all that while still looking like a comfy, inviting, beautiful floor. It's luxury vinyl tile that that's available in tiles with or without grout, planks, adhered floors and floating floors. And on top of manufacturing great flooring, Tarkett also offer tons of great products and programs like iSelect. iSelect will honestly take the guesswork out of coordinating your flooring for you. Tarkett has put together six selections of FiberFloor products that are organized to complement all of the colors in that pallette. All you have to do is pick which of the six palettes that you like best and the rest is basically done! This is absolutely great when you are trying to coordinate adjoining rooms as well. I personally love the Fireside Chats collection, which you can see below. You can easily find a design palette that suits your style by looking through the six iSelect palettes.
There are also invaluable inspiration resources available with an extensive selection of photos, some of which even show the product in use in various settings. I love that, I've got to know that it will actually work in my busy household. But to me the absolute best part is the RoomVue! You can literally upload a picture of your exact room that you are considering new flooring in and virtually "see" what each floor looks like in it. Say what?! It's the best thing since sliced bread to a visual person like me. Here are a couple of screenshots I took while I was checking out every. single. floor option for my own kitchen…you know, for research…not because it is slightly addicting. You can too (and I highly suggest that you try it) with Visualize your room at RoomVue.
