Healthy, Nutritious & Delicious Blueberry Smoothie

For Christmas this year, my husband and I decided that instead of more toys that our kids don’t need, that we wanted to give them the gift and experience of travel.  We are both huge fans of world traveling and just love that we are able to share that opportunity with our kiddos.  The kids could not have been more excited when they opened their gifts on Christmas (a few pieces of tropical clothing, a calendar to count down the days, a travel journal and an underwater camera from Santa as well as info on the cruise that we’ll be taking) and discovered the surprise.

But now that means that “bikini season” is just around the corner for me and it is time to get back into clean(er) eating.

This healthy, nutritious and delicious blueberry smoothie is an awesome way for me to start my day (although if I am honest, I love it morning, noon or night) and is chock full of awesomeness for my body.  It helps that I always have all of the ingredients on hand too…you might as well!

Healthy, Nutritious & Delicious Blueberry Smoothie

Ingredients
  • I ripe banana
  • 1 cup fresh or frozen blueberries
  • 1 cup almond milk
  • 2 tbs honey
  • ½ tsp cinnamon
  • ½ cup ice cubes
Instructions
  1. Combine all ingredients in a blender and mix well.
  2. Serve immediately

Blueberries are pretty darn incredible, which I guess is why I have shared this smoothie recipe, cookie recipe and cinnamon blueberry melt recipe.  But seriously, they are chock full of antioxidants, vitamin C and they help boost brain health.  Not to mention that they are super low in calories and practically fat free!
