After telling you all how crazy I am about my mom the other day, I realized that Mother’s Day was sneaking up on me and I was totally unprepared. I needed a gift to mail to her and I needed it quickly! Family photos are always her gift of choice, and she can never have too many. It’s one of those givens with her…having a picture of her grandkids that she can hold and touch and see whenever she is feeling lonely always brings a smile to her face. Since we were lucky enough to get some great family shots while on our cruise, I’ve ordered her some photo gifts and made this beautiful paper box from a 12×12 piece of scrapbook paper to hold some sweet treats for her as well.
Here is how I made the fun package:
Using a scoring board for this project will make your life so much simpler, but if you don’t have one you can absolutely still make this. You’ll just need a ruler and pencil to mark the lines before you fold them.
Score at the 3″ and 9″ mark and then rotate the paper 180*.
Score at 1,” 3 1/2,” 6 1/2,” and 9.”
On the side with the 1″ score mark, cut off the two outer corner pieces. Then cut down to the middle section on both sides. You should end up with this:
Fold along all of the scoring marks and then glue the edges together.
I chose to fill mine with a small piece of tissue paper and some chocolates, but the possibilities for what it can hold are only limited to your imagination. Wrap it all up with a ribbon and it makes an adorable gift box.
What are you planning to give your mom for Mother’s Day? Are there any special gifts that you would hope to receive?
