The one thing that is a necessity to start my day is a morning chai latte. My habit is so obnoxious that I actually travel with baggies full of my own mix so that if I’ve got access to hot water, I’ve got access to my chai. It’s a problem, but I don’t see it stopping anytime soon!
During this crazy hot summer I have been enjoying more and more iced chai lattes, so I thought that I would kick it up a notch and add some vanilla flavor and make it a perfect post-workout treat all in one fell swoop! By adding vanilla protein to my iced chai, it kicks up the flavor a notch, and provides the oh so important protein that most women (myself included!) don’t get enough of.
This is just about the easiest “recipe” that I could come up with. Which is exactly what I need if I am making it as my caffeine boost in the morning!
As much as I love my powdered chai mix, I prefer a liquid for iced chais. The powder really needs hot liquid in order to dissolve, so I just keep it for my hot lattes. Grab your favorite liquid mix at the store and just keep it in your pantry/fridge in the summer and I can guarantee it will make your morning happier. 🙂
- ½ cup almond milk (or whichever milk you prefer)
- ½ cup liquid chai mix
- ⅓ cup vanilla protein powder
- ice
- In a glass or pitcher, mix together almond milk, liquid chai mix and protein powder. Stir well until all of the powder is combined/dissolved.
- Pour over ice into a separate glass and enjoy!
