Does your family have a special food or drink that absolutely must be served at each and every holiday meal or the whole meal is an epic failure? This punch is that drink for our family. My mom started making this when I was a young girl and it has since made its way down to my own family and I don’t see it stopping anytime soon. My kids adore it and insist upon it being served at each and every special occasion meal that we have, which includes birthdays and all holidays. It is quick and easy to make and super tasty, so I don’t mind too much. You may even have all of the ingredients on hand.
- 2 Liter bottle of Sprite
- 1 package of Kool Aid (flavor is optional, I usually choose a red of some kind)
- ¾ cups sugar
- Sherbet (flavor is optional)
- Optional garnish:
- red M&Ms
- fresh mint leaves
- In bottom of large punch bowl, combine Kool Aid and sugar. Add 4 or 5 ice cream scoops of sherbet. Pour bottle of Sprite into the bowl and stir to combine.
- Serve in individual glass and add 1 scoop of sherbet, 2 mint leaves and 2 or 3 red M&Ms to serve as holly berries.
Make sure that when you are ready to pour the Sprite into the bowl that you have your kids with you. The bowl will fill with fizzy bubbles that seems to endlessly delight children.
And as we all know, “they” say that presentation is key, but feel free to omit the mint leaves and M&Ms if you’d like, they certainly don’t add anything to the taste, but they do look adorable. I hope that you’ll enjoy this punch as much as my family does!
