Ringing in Spring Home Tour

I’m so thrilled to be part of an exciting spring home tour with 14 other amazing bloggers.  It has been unseasonably cold down here in the south, and I had been slowly adding bits and pieces of spring decor to my home, but this home tour served as my excuse to go full blown with pastels, fresh flowers and even a bird’s nest.  Come on in and take a look…

Last weekend I scored big time with finding this china cabinet on Craigslist.  And the price was ridiculous, one of those where you almost feel bad because the people don’t know that what they are selling is worth so much more than they are asking, but you quietly jump up and down in your head because it is such a screaming deal.

Let’s all just politely pretend that we don’t see the reflection of the lunatic in her super fluffy slippers.  I told you it’s been cold!  Moving on…

While I do not intend to actually use the china cabinet to house china (top secret info: it’s for my craft room!) I knew that before anything else moved into it that it would be the perfect place to stage a lovely setup of spring decor.  I grabbed a set of white dishes, all of the sweet spring pastels I had lying around and got to work.  About 15 minutes later I was looking at this:

Ahh, what a difference some fun finds (and a black Sharpie) made!  Let’s take a closer look at what’s inside:

I love the mix of the happy colors with the clean look of the white dishes.  I am totally in love with it, and it is almost making me rethink my plans about the china cabinets usage.  Almost.

Moving into the living room I’ve added some spring pieces to the mantel as well as a few tabletops.  You may also remember my bunny pillows which still adorn my couches.

This little guy is sitting on the mantel next to some cherry blossom stems from my mom’s yard.  Thanks Mom!

House plants are always a great way to bring a bit of spring indoors, and I’ve got a couple that my black thumb has managed to not kill yet (I won’t hold my breath that they’ll survive the summer).

Who doesn’t love orchids?!

This plant was gifted at my grandmother’s recent funeral, and I am trying with all my might to keep it alive.  Can anyone tell me what it is?  I know, ridiculous question!
