Although we don’t always manage to eat as healthfully as we would like to around my home, we try to sneak good things in when we are least expecting them. For instance, my favorite green smoothies and the oh so easy, go to, 3 ingredient crepes. Like this sweet and flavorful chocolate strawberry paleo milkshake, they are all packed with healthy goodness but taste like an indulgent treat.
Paleo and milkshakes are generally two words that you don’t hear used in conjunction all too often, but there are plenty of ways around that pesky “no dairy” rule. You can substitute coconut or almond milk for cow’s milk and not only are you avoiding dairy, you are also adding another layer of flavor! This is a great treat if you are currently on a paleo or dairy free diet and are missing some of the desserts, but it is also a healthy snack that we serve around here as an alternative to ice cream milkshakes. Gotta keep those kids on their toes! 🙂
- 2 cups sliced frozen strawberries
- ¾ cup almond milk (could also use coconut milk)
- 1 Tbs honey
- ¼ - ½ cup Enjoy Life chocolate chips
- Add all ingredients to blender and blend until smooth. Add ice if desired for a thicker consistency.
It is so easy to whip one of these up and feel as though you are indulging in a sinful dessert, when in reality you are serving yourself an energy packed clean snack.
