Some days I go through life thinking that I am an incredible mother and I’ve got everything under control. (Ha, yeah right!)
Other days I go through life fully understanding that I have created three monsters and then unleashed them upon the world. (Sorry about that.)
It goes back and forth as to which outlook on life I am currently choosing to believe.
The day that I found blue zombie brains (thank you Halloween inspired slime makers for marketing this product so well that my son COULD NOT live without it!) mashed into my couch was a day like no other. You see, in the midst of one of the busiest times of the year, as I am gearing up to have boatloads of company knocking down my door, while at the same time I was packing my entire family for a cross country road trip, I realized that my kids are really truly gross little creatures. Creatures who would choose to put to the test just how “washable” our large family room sectional really is by mashing zombie brains into each and every fiber they could access.
I’ve got news for you; it is not that washable!
Now I know that I am not alone in having gross tiny humans. And I am sure that I made some messes when I was a child, but I think that my kids take it to a whole new level. A level so high that I cannot even see it most of the time and I pray that it is out of reach.
Unfortunately, nothing seems to be out of reach for my children! Haha! It may just take a bigger mess to stand on to reach that high
To make a long story slightly shorter, I am now stuck looking for a possible new couch (since zombie brains are so last season). I have done my fair share of internet shopping and have found an incredible new line of custom upholstered furniture at Wayfair that I am loving! They’ve got sofas, sleeper sofas, chairs, ottomans and more and you can choose the style and fabric that fit best.
I looked at a bunch of the collections, (the Brooke, Gracie, Harper, Paige and Josephine just to name a few…is it weird that I want to have more kids now just so I can use some of these names? Maybe their not that gross…), but have narrowed my favorites down to the Sarah and the Eliza collections. They are both classic and simple and perfect for my family room. And did I tell you that you can get it in teal?! Be still my heart! I guess you probably know which color got my vote (although there are 18 beautiful, hard to choose from colors).
It is yet to be determined whether or not I will bite the bullet and get a whole new family room collection or just use a strategically placed pillow to cover those darn zombie brains, but either way, I know that I am in love with the ability to have so much control over my own design with this custom line.
And here is the best news of all…I’ve got a next to impossible to get your hands on coupon code for you from the amazing folks at Wayfair! They always have great deals on their Daily Sales page and emails, but the coupon codes are few and far between. This one is good for all custom upholstery (even chairs and ottomans!) and runs from October 16th through the 20th, so hurry up and get yourself some savings! Just enter the code WFCustom10 at checkout.
And while you are shopping, make sure to ask yourself if zombie brains would match your color choices? Because, let’s be honest; life happens and while it can be gross, it is almost always amazing.
Thanks to Wayfair for allowing me to chat about their awesome custom upholstery. I was compensated with a gift card, but all opinions are 100% my own.
I love, love, love this post!! I mean I love all of your posts, but I mean seriously, this is so my house. I call cleaning up with my son around like brushing your teeth with an oreo cookie! We are putting off furniture for now, but it is so awful, so I am glad to see your great experience with Wayfair. Take care girl. Sometimes you have to turn a blind eye, and then realize you cannot get anything else done because all you can think about are those dang zombie brains!
Haha, those zombie brains haunt me! I am so glad that I am not alone in the world of messy kiddos. I mean, I hate that you have to go through it as well, but at least it’s not just me. 😉
