Do you have an ornament that has special meaning to you? Or maybe each family member has their own favorite that they just love so much? If so, this is the perfect stocking holder for you. It is a crazy easy DIY that can cost you as little as $3 per holder and will take about one minute each to make. You can’t beat that, and it makes it even better that you can personalize it. Okay, so here is what you will need:
Ornaments: Either store bought or a special ornament for each person (I bought mine at Hobby Lobby to match my stockings at $7 for 4)
Stocking Holders Bases: I found these at Walmart for $6 for 2 – they had other colors as well
Hot Glue Gun
I wish that I could pretend that I went through so much work and effort to make these beautiful holders, but the truth is I just pulled out my hot glue gun. And the truly laborious part comes into play when I applied that glue to the bottom of my ornament and held it on to the stocking holder base for 10 seconds while it dried. Yeah, pretty hard work here. But the amazing thing is that anyone who sees your own personalized stocking holders will actually think that it was hard work! They are going to ooh and aah over them, but I’ll leave it up to you as to whether or not you want to fess up as to how truly simple and easy they were to make. You can easily change these out every year as well as long as you use a relatively sturdy ornament. I don’t think that I would attempt removing a delicate glass ornament, but these shatterproof ornaments pulled right up with a little elbow grease. This is a great way to customize your mantle.
