I’ve got a thing against empty wall space. I don’t like clutter, but an empty wall just seems like a lost opportunity for adding some personal flair. Because we are a military family we move often though, and the need for flair that can be uprooted along with our family is necessary all too often. Every year when I see all of the freshly graduated high school students preparing for their college dorm life, I flock to the stores to stock up on economical, portable and renter friendly goodies. I was so super excited this year to find the Wallternatives line from Royal Design Studio, because it is completely affordable, absolutely adorable and totally damage free!
I got a chance to check out the Wallternatives line while I was at Haven last month and I was blown away. I knew that I had to try out the WallPrints in my home. They are fabric decals that are printed using a 4 color process onto premium polyester fabric. They use some kind of wizardry to make them simple to peel and stick…and REUSE! Did you get that? Removable and reusable! Holy cow!
I was pleasantly surprised when it came time to apply the WallPrints to the wall as I am used to working with vinyl. When vinyl gets a bubble, it is a challenge to remove. When I got a bubble with the fabric, it smoothed right out on the first try. They don’t peel or wrinkle and no matter how long you leave it up the adhesive never weakens or strengthens. So if you love your design and leave it up for years, it still will not cause any damage to your walls when you remove it.
I love that a lot of the designs are intended to allow the user to decide placement and layout. It leaves the door open for so much creativity and personalization. I chose to use some frames to add a decorative touch to a light switch, a small calendar and to do list. I also found a couple of small words cut out of wood for less than $2 a piece and painted them with craft paint. I used rolled up painters tape on the back to attach them to the wall while keeping with the removable theme. I could not be happier with the outcome of the Vintage Photo Frame Wall Decals!
I love the design, I appreciate the quality and I am so happy to know that these are green, non toxic products. It’s really an unbeatable combo! There are tons of design options to choose from, so be sure to check out Royal Design Studio to take a look at all that they have to offer.
Thanks to Wallternatives for sending me this incredible Vintage Frame Set. I was totally blown away by it and all opinions are, as always, 100% my own.
