4 cups chopped, peeled apples (Granny Smith are best)
¾ cup melted butter
1 package of yellow cake mix
Optional Toppings:
½ cup powdered sugar
1 tsp water
melted caramel
Instructions
Preheat oven to 350*.
Prepare a 9x13 baking pan with cooking spray.
Peel and chop four cups of Granny Smith apples. Place on the bottom of the baking pan and evenly pour the dry cake mix on top. Pour the melted butter over the whole pan, making sure to cover all of the dry cake mix.
Bake at 350* for 45-50 minutes or until golden brown.
If making the optional topping, mix powdered sugar and water together to create an icing. Drizzle over the cake after it has cooled slightly. Drizzle melted caramels for an added treat.
