Oh how I love to grill! Can you imagine a summer without a barbeque? There are so many great gatherings that tend to happen around our grill and some of our favorite memories are centered around it. But we use it so often that it gets super funky and gross and then takes for.ev.er to clean. I recently found an incredible company called Grate Chef that has made cleaning my grill ridiculously easy, and dare I say it…almost enjoyable. Can you believe that?!
Grate Chef is a team that has over 40 years of combined experience in the foodservice and retail food sales business. They strive to make consumer friendly versions of "methods" that the restaurant industry has been using for years. They make it practical for us home chefs to achieve professional results in our own kitchens.
The first Grate Chef product (Grate Chef Grill Wipes) was launched in March of 2003 in Nashville, TN at the Hearth, Patio and Barbeque Association Expo. They've since added a bunch of useful products that make grilling season much more enjoyable. The grill wipes are exceptional when it comes time to oiling your grates to keep your food from sticking. My poor hubby used to be out there with a can of non stick cooking spray that never really seemed to work. The grill wipes use a patented process to deliver the oil directly to the grilling surface so that it doesn't just burn off like cooking sprays do. You can easily apply it by allowing it to cling to your grill brush. So much easier than spraying cooking spray all over! Here's a great demonstration video of the wipes in action: Grate Chef Grill Wipes Video Demo
Some of the other great products are stainless steel wipes, The Groover to help you de-gunk, and the amazing steaming grill brush (so in love with this!). You simply add water to it and it steam cleans your grill grates for you! Blows my mind! The fire starters are also totally impressive, especially if you are grilling on the go or you could take it camping, as it is safe to transport and one packet burns clean at 1,500 degrees for about 10 minutes. And then comes my favorite product…Flare Down. Have you ever had a perfect steak cooked a bit too well done after a flare up or two? There's really not much that you can do other than to remove the meat, but that gets old quickly. Of course we all know not to use water on grease fires, so this is the perfect solution. It is non toxic and food safe, so spray away and keep those flare ups in check. Seriously, check this out… Grate Chef Flare Down Video Demo
Grate Chef products are available in retail stores nationwide. In fact, I picked some up at Lowes last week. You can find store locations near you or you can always buy online as well.
I am loving how Grate Chef has changed our grilling season for the better. Check it out and see what it can do for you.
