Kid’s Artwork Brownies

I’ve been on a brownie kick as of late.  You might remember my gameday playbook brownies that I shared a couple of weeks ago, and when I was stocking up on supplies for those (and some upcoming cupcakes!) at Walmart, I of course grabbed some extras.

My six year old saw the Pillsbury™ Brownie Mix box in the pantry and begged for me to make them with her.  Her happy humming and and adorable drawings while waiting for the brownies to come out of the oven are what inspired me to make these “kid’s artwork brownies.”

Everyone loves to feel validated, but I have found that kids especially enjoy to have their artwork oohed and aahed over.  After my baby girl drew this heart, she looked up at me with her big blue eyes and patiently waited for me to fawn all over it.  And fawn I did, because I am a sucker for those baby blues.

Thankfully, with the Pillsbury™ Brownie Mix being such an easy treat to make, we had it mixed and in the oven within a couple of minutes which gave us plenty of time to decide how we wanted to decorate them and how we would display Emmalynn’s artwork.

We grabbed a can of Pillsbury™ Creamy Supreme® strawberry frosting and dug through the cabinets for some sprinkles.  With Valentine’s Day just around the corner and love on our minds with the heart drawing, the pink icing and gold sprinkles were a perfect match.

We let the brownies cool completely after they had cooked and then we iced them.  Emmalynn cut out her heart (I taped the ends back together since she struggled with the concept of cutting just the inside).  We used her artwork as a template for our sprinkles on the brownies.  We laid the paper on top and poured sprinkles directly onto the brownies.  We pushed them in very slightly to help them stay on.

And that is how we were able to create these sweet kid’s artwork brownies.  You could do this with any simple artwork at any time of the year and make your kiddo’s day.  So what are you waiting for…get in the kitchen and Mix Up a Moment with your favorite little loved one today!  But before you do make sure you save on Pillsbury™ now and be sure to check out other ways to Mix Up a Moment.
