Like all of you, I assume, December is always an insane month for me. Between parties and field trips, time off of school and family get togethers, this month can sometimes make me feel like I am losing focus on what is truly important. So I try to get ahead of the chaos as much as possible and cross things off my list early so they aren’t hanging over my head and keeping me from enjoying the holidays.
I have been busy, busy, busy making and preparing a bunch of DIY gifts for my friends and family, but this really fun Mele Kalikimaka Champagne and Chocolate Pineapple may just top the cake for me. I am obsessed with it. It was super easy to make, but the recipient will feel like you put tons more effort into it than you really did. And with the free printable at the bottom of the post, you can easily whip up your own and cross some things off of your list as well!
Supplies:
Bottle of champagne
Chocolates of your choice in gold wrappers (I used two bags of Lindt and a small bag of Hershey Kisses)
Hot glue gun
Green paper
Printed tag and ribbon
I picked up all of my supplies for well under $20, but the cost will vary depending on your champagne and chocolate choices.
Place a small dab of hot glue onto the chocolate wrapper and place around the bottle.
Start with the bigger chocolates and use the Hershey Kisses to fill in any spots where the bottle might still be showing.
Once you reach the bottle neck, grab your green paper and cut some long leaf shapes. (I used two different shades of green and layered them.)
Slightly fold each piece down the center to create some dimension and then glue the bottom edge to the bottle, creating the pineapple fronds. You can then add another layer of chocolates if you need in order to cover the ends of the paper.
Grab the free printable at the bottom, print it out, punch a hole and tie it on with some ribbon and you are ready to make someone’s day! I mean, who wouldn’t love champagne and chocolate, am I right?!
