Ornament Display

frame 1

We all have an ornament that has sentimental value to us.  I don’t know about you, but with three kids under the age of eight running around my home, I tend to not put these ornaments on my tree for fear of them being broken.  It’s a shame that I am not able to display my special ornaments and it always makes me a bit sad to have to pack them back up and put them away for safekeeping.  This year, I decided that I was going to find a way to display my ornaments and keep them out of harm’s reach at the same time.  And here is how I did it:

frame

I found this pretty hinged frame at Hobby Lobby for $18 (gotta love that Hobby Lobby frames are always 50% off!).  I brought it home and removed the glass on one side.  I found the ornament that I wanted to display and used some hot glue to attach my string to the top of the back piece of the frame.  Now my ornament is hanging in the middle of the glass free side of the frame.  Make sense?  I hope so, because I forgot to take a picture of that step.  Oops, sorry!  Now for the other side of the frame, find a Christmas quote that you like and print it out on some nice cardstock.  I backed mine with some holiday paper just to give it some more color.  Insert into the frame and you are all done!  Now you can set this beauty on your mantle or table and not have to worry about it being broken by curious little hands.

This display is also perfect if you are headed to an ornament exchange this year.  Your will definetly stand out from the crowd!

Here it is on my mantle.  And if you love the ornament garland, the glitter trees or the Christmas canvas, check back as those tutorials will be added soon.
