There just never seems to be enough time on busy weeknights to get home, make sure that homework is started, take the kids to their sports, make sure they are showered and bathed and then to make dinner before getting them ready for bed. It’s not uncommon for my family to eat a bowl of cereal or a PB&J sandwich for dinner on nights like this because I have to make the choice between quality time with my kiddos or slaving in front of the stove. But of course cereal is certainly not a well balanced dinner and I always feel guilty when we quickly down a bowl and the kids head off to bed having not had any protein or veggies with their meal. However, my family has made a recent discovery that others have known about for decades…we found out how amazing Manwich is!
Were you one of the millions who has been in on this Manwich Easy Weeknight Meals secret for years? If so, you probably know that it is a sweet and tangy sauce that can be added to any kind of meat or pasta to make a complete meal in no time flat. Better yet, it comes in three flavor varieties (Original, Bold and Thick and Chunky) to give you some options to change it up. It has some serious kid stopping power, and generally will require the use of two hands to eat, so your kiddos will focus on their dinner and not their phones or video games. I think we can all relate to that a bit! There are no artificial preservatives or ingredients, so you can feel safe in the knowledge that you are feeding your family well. And since there is no meat in Manwich, you have the freedom to add whatever your family loves most!
My family gobbled down these Sloppy Joe French Fries we made and it could not have been easier. Really just four simple steps:
- 1 lb ground beef or turkey
- 1 can Manwich (either Original, Bold or Thick and Chunky)
- 1 bag frozen french fries
- green onions, chopped, to taste
- cherry tomatoes, chopped, to taste
- mozzarella cheese, diced, to taste
- Preheat oven according to the french fry package and prepare accordingly.
- In the meantime, brown meat and drain. Add 1 can of any flavor Manwich and cook for an additional 2 minutes to warm through.
- Remove fries from the oven and cover with Manwich and meat.
- Chop some green onions, cherry tomatoes and mozzarella cheese to taste and add as garnish.
As you can see, my kids definitely loved it and we will now be adding Manwich to the regular weekday rotation. I can’t wait to try it in other dishes!
I hope that you give this quick meal a try! If you would like to find where you can purchase Manwich near you, check out this great product locator and also make sure to take a peek at all of the delicous Manwich Recipes.
Glad to know some other family out there eats Sloppy Joes and fries. Will have to combine the 2 next time! Have a good weekend! Linda
The combo was pretty great Linda! We actually put it on the menu again for next week. 🙂
