You guys, I am so darn excited! My BFF, Melissa, and her adorable boys are coming for a visit this week! I haven’t seen her since we did the Mudderella run together back in July and I am in desperate need of some girl time. Since she is coming to finalize the sale of her house (oh military, why must you separate us?!) they will be staying at my home. My kiddos and I wanted to make Melissa and the boys feel extra welcome, so we put together this little guest basket and made some cupcakes for an extra sweet surprise.
I grabbed all of my supplies (including my Pillsbury™ Spring Funfetti® Cake Mix and Vanilla Flavored Frosting) at Walmart, except for the basket and towels that I already had on hand.
Included in the basket are:
a box of tissues
travel sized shampoo and conditioner
makeup removal wipes
a couple bottles of water
travel sized toothpaste
a bottle of wine
a box of tea bags
My little ones are just as excited about the visit as I am (they are all best buds too!), so they were more than happy to help out with baking and decorating the cupcakes. I love that the Pillsbury™ cake mixes are so easy that we were able to whip them up after school and still have plenty of time for homework before dinner.
An added bonus is the built in family time. We played a card game while we were waiting for the cupcakes to cool and had a pretty great conversation while we were at it.
The cupcakes turned out so ridiculously cute!
So how do you make your house guests feel welcome? Do you like to welcome company with fresh baked treats?
‘Cause I’m pretty sure that it would make my day to see the wifi password and these beauties on my nightstand any day of the week.
Head over to discover more ways to #MixUpAMoment and be sure to check out the Ibotta deal as well, then come back in a few weeks to see how we created some super fun Easter cupcakes.
