I know that I just recently went on and on about teacher’s gifts at the end of the year, and how hard it is for me to come up with something new each year, but I am back and having the same discussion again. My kids are lucky to have some pretty darn incredible teacher’s and I always want to make sure that they understand that I appreciate them and all that they do for my kids throughout the year. But because I have six teachers to buy for between my three kiddos, I try to come up with economical gifts that are still useful and appreciated. Last year I made these fun pencil signs, but this year I decided to to gift something that can be used outside of the classroom just as easily as inside. And because I didn’t have the time to handmade each teacher a gift this year, I just handmade the tags and used a fun play on words.
Our teachers are all “tote”ally awesome and now they can pack up books and supplies or sunscreen and beach towels and put this cute tote bag to use!
I found my tote bags at Target for around $20 each, but I have seen some less expensive options around if you, too, have lots of people to purchase for or would like to spend some more moola on goodies to go inside.
I whipped up a couple of tag options using PicMonkey that you can print off and attach to your totes. The play on words may be a bit cheesy, but I definitely love a good pun! You can use cardstock to give a more substantial feel to the tag and then use a hole punch to create a space for your ribbon to slide through and tie around the handle.
To print, just click on the photo of the tag and then click again. That will bring up a page with the photo alone where you can directly print from.
You can fill the tote up (books for the classroom, beach towels, magazines…) or leave empty…either way it is an adorable way to let your child’s teacher know just what you think of them.
That they are “TOTE”ally awesome!
